My being persistent or a squeaky wheel FINALLY paid off. I just got off the phone with the GI Clinic and PCMC and they changed Paizlei's appointment from May 19th to Monday...MONDAY!!!! YAY!!! I called them several times yesterday, left several messages, one of which I was in tears because I was so frustrated that none of the doctors in Gunnison would listen to me and actually LOOK for a problem with Paizlei. Hopefully Monday, we will have some answers! We are keeping our fingers crossed!!!
Yesterday, we FINALLY got the date on Hunter's Autism testing! We have only been waiting to hear back from the state for over a month. His testing will be June 29-30 in Richfield. We were trying to get him in to see a pediatric psychologist at UVRMC, but the first appointment, he was in the hospital with asthma issues and the Behavioral Medicine clinic at UVRMC didn't want me to bring him in where he had been in the hospital...even though he wasn't contagious. So we rescheduled the 2nd appointment, which the clinic called us that time and told us the psychologist was had to be out of town that day, so we were unable to get him in there. I know, you are thinking "a lot of excuses, here". Really, REALLY, they are not excuses. Just a part of life. My friend Heather, told me of a program the State Department of Health has to do testing and a lot of times, you don't have to pay for it. Heather gave me their website and some other information. I called and got the packet, filled it out and sent it back in to them. This program is absolutely wonderful! they have several specialists that will evaluate Hunter and do a wide variety of testing on him. I know for sure they have a pediatrician, neurologist, psychologist, opthamologist, occupational therapist and physical therapists.
Good things are happening today! Persistence really does pay off.

I'm so excited to hear that the appointment got moved up for your baby girl. I'm so sorry to hear that she has been having problems. It's heart breaking to see your child in pain when there is nothing you can't do about it and the Dr's also won't do anything about it. Good luck! Lydia had problems with that when she was not quite 2 weeks old and after a long week and switching formula she did better. But the Dr did tell us that you can use suppositories, even for babies which we had to do (he told us to cut a small piece off an adult one that was about the size of a tic tac). Good Luck and let us know how the appointment goes!
