After another night spent in the ER last night, I am in need of some advice from EVERYONE! Paizlei has been having issues with going #2. We didn't have this problem when she was breastfed (up to 8 months) and formula fed (from 8 months to on year).
If I go back to feeding her Similac Early Shield, is that going to keep her from growing or getting the nourishment she gets from cow's milk? I haven't heard of a 16 month old still having to drink formula.
PLEASE, ANYONE AND EVERYONE (EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW ME) LEAVE YOUR COMMENT.
I am beyond frustrated with this problem with Paizlei. We have an appointment on May 19th with a Peds GI doctor and Primary Children's, but in the meantime, I HAVE to find something...ANYTHING that will work.

We still have Crew on formula BECAUSE of his growth problems, bowel, and nutritional concerns! FEAR NOT the Similac!!! The formula has so many more vitamins and minerals AND also has more calories than whole milk. We mostly do it because his diet is not varied enough yet to get his vitamins elsewhere, but also for the increased calories! You go, girl! It is WAY more nourishing than plain cow's milk. PLUS, most formulas have cow's milk in them! She won't even be missing out on anything you can get in cow's milk. It's completely win-win! The only benefit to cow's milk is that it's cheaper!! My pediatrician was thrilled that I was willing and eager to keep Crew on formula longer!!!!!
Also, I know she has unique structural issues that are interfering, but have you ever tried feeding her baby prunes? I know that Crew's issues are different, but when I feed the constipated little guy baby jarred prunes, the explosions begin within hours. The only time he's had poopy blow outs!
