It's Fair Time!

Om Friday, August 26th, Zane and I decided to take the kids up to Manti to the fair.  Zane isn't one for big crowds, so to get him there was a BIG push.  Grandma and Grandpa Black rode up there with us.  Because of the ridiculous price to go on one ride, the kids got to go on one ride...Hunter actually went on two.  Grandma saw how bad he wanted to go on the carousel and went got a couple more tokens so he could go.

Here are some fun photos from our trip to "THE FAIR"!!!

His face says it all!  He was so funny, at the first part of the ride, he wouldn't look at us, after a few times of going around, he warmed up.  He thought he was pretty cool getting to "drive a tractor guy".

Ah, my two FAVORITES!  They both had SO MUCH fun on the carousel.

Love her face!!!  She was having the time of her life!  Hunter looks like he is holding on for dear life, actually, he was trying to shake the horse.

Isn't she so stinkin' cute?  Every time we would go around, when we would get back to Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, she would blow kisses their way.  Funny story about this particular "horse", as she called it, she saw it go around as we were waiting for our turn.  She got all excited when she saw the "Harsey with flowlohs!!", we had to go in search for it.

This little guy of mine has a really good arm on him and can throw.  He made it into one or two bowls...kind of a hard game for a little kid, but he did good.  He made enough balls in the bowls, he was able to get a prize, which he though was pretty neat.

We tried to get Paizlei to play a game, but she was more interested in watching the BIG rides...secretly, Mom was too and was wishing she had a hubby that wasn't so dang afraid of heights and would go on one with me.  Party pooper, I know.  Anyway, this game you had to catch three ducks with a "S", "M", "L" on it in order to get a prize.  Hunter got all three "S"s, so he was able to pick out another small prize.  He and Daddy played this game twice.

Grandma even got in on the fun!  This little area was called Fun on the Farm.  A young man from Ephraim did this as his Eagle Scout Project several years ago and has been a hit at the Fair every year since.  This year, they had it all on cement slabs with it's own little cement trail.  It was so much fun.  Hunter. LOVED. It.

At Fun on the Farm, the children go to different barns or stations where they participate and learn about different parts of farms.  I couldn't believe how good Hunter was at roping the cow.  He did really good.  Granted, he is right up to the cows hind legs, but he did GREAT!!!

In another station, they "planted seeds" (they were small wooden discs that had what veggie would grow on it).  I LOVE how Hunter is digging the hole with his shovel.  He has watched his Dad shovel a few too many times.

Checking out the many different butterflies, bugs and petting a real BIG cockroach...YUCK!!!  And, trying on a pair of super goofy safety goggles.

He absolutely LOVED this barn.  He walked right in, sat down on the milking stool and started milking the cow like he knew EXACTLY what he was doing.  He thought it was the neatest thing.  I still couldn't believe he knew how to milk a cow.  Truly a smart little boy.

After the fair, we drove to Ephraim and had dinner at McDonald's with Grandma and Grandpa and let the kids run some more of their energy off.

Thank you for riding up there with us, Val and Burke.  We had a really good time, the kids especially.  And thanks for buying a few more tokens so Hunter could go on the carousel. :)
