The Kids Workshop

This last Saturday, the kids and I went to a spring expo in Richfield with Zane's Mom.  When we first walked in, we went to visit some of the vendors.  There were a couple that caught Hunter's eye.  The first was the Hogle Zoo.  They had a tortoise and a couple tarantula's.  Hunter didn't want anything to do with the tarantula (definitely his Momma's boy there!), but the tortoise, he was so interested in it.  It was so cute to watch him with it.  (Bummer, I didn't take any pictures :( ).  And, there was a a white bunny rabbit!  On our way down there, Grandma mentioned to the kids, mainly Hunter, there might be some animals there.  Hunter responded, "and a bunny rabbit?".  So when we came up to the bunny rabbit, his little face lite up!  I was surprised when he pet it.  But even more surprised when Paizlei starting petting it.  I was worried she would be a little too rough, but she was soft as soft could be.
The main reason we went, was to take the kids to the Home Depot Kids Workshop that was participating in the expo.  The whole time we were walking through the vendors, he kept looking down on the lower floor at where Home Depot had their Kids Workshop set up.  If you are not familiar with the Kids Workshops, the first Saturday of every month, Home Depot has a little workshop where kids can go into the store and build something.  Although I have seen it advertised on TV many times, I haven't taken my kids to it.  However, after experiencing it this last weekend with my kids, especially with Hunter, I have put it on my calendar to take my kids to Richfield to do the workshop.  Hunter was so into it!  He. Loved. It.  His attention was full on with the project at hand.  It was absolutely amazing and fun to watch him.  He picked out the toolbox, of course!  With Grandma's help, he had his very own toolbox...one like Handy Manny!  He LOVES it!!!  Paizlei picked out a cute little tulip flower pot.  She was more into the little girl that was watching her, than she was building, so I got to be the one to build it.
Here are some pictures of my kids with their Home Depot Kids Workshop creations.

See what I mean, his attention was completely on the task at hand!

Funny story about the people in the background in this photo.  The young land standing behind my MIL is a friend from St. George.  It catches me off guard when I run into them up here.  I have to remind myself that he is from Aurora, hence the reason they are living up this way now.  I actually worked with Teresa when we lived down there.

She would not put that apple down!  Here she is with her creation!

Isn't she so stinkin' cute?

Hunter, Paizlei and Grandma...Hunter was so proud of his toolbox!!!  He wants to carry it with him EVERYWHERE!

Thanks, Kelli! She definitely got my hair...the fine, stringy hair. I'm trying to keep it short and cut it about every 6 weeks, in hopes of it thickening up like, my hair. Everyone tells me if I keep her hair short and cut it every so often, it will thicken. Keeping my fingers crossed.
