Honoring the Seniors

My oldest nephew, Preston, is a high school senior this year.  He is also the catcher for the varsity team at Manti High.  On Friday, May 6th, all the seniors on the team were honored after a home game.  My kids and I have tried to make it to as many home games and games they have played here in Gunnison, so this day was no different.  Paizlei and I drove to Manti to be there to support Preston.  It was such a fun game too, they were behind and we didn't think they were going to pull off a win.  Then the unexpected happened, and they had an awesome inning and pulled ahead.  As soon as that inning was up, Richfield was up to bat, after the first player struck out, the refs called the game.  It was so much fun to watch those boys celebrate their last home game before playoffs.

Preston has been living with my parents for the past 6 years, I thought it was very admirable and sweet for Preston to put my parents down as "the son of".  It was very touching to me, I can only imagine how my parents felt.  As with most teenagers, he can be a little stinker, but he definitely is a good kid, and makes me a very proud aunt!

Here are some photos from his day.

Preston's Dad, Preston, my Mom, Dad and Preston's Mom...when Preston was being recognized.

#'s 26, 27 & 33 are the coaches.  The 5 boys facing the camera, are all seniors.  They gave each of the coaches a baseball where they each wrote something for each coach.  The head coach, #26, lives across the street from my parents.
All the seniors on the team.

Preston and his cute girlfriend, Lauren.

The 5 seniors doing what they do best...being goof balls!  Several of these boys have been friends since middle school, and un-separable at that.

#7 is Preston's best friend, Tyler.  These two have been BFF's for years...they are both such cute young men.  Always there to make you smile.  Ever since they have been playing ball, they both ALWAYS wear war paint on their faces.  They crack me up!!!
