Preston's Graduation

The evening of May 26th, my oldest nephew, Preston, graduated from high school.  To say I am proud of him, is very much and understatement!  This young man has gone through so much in his young life, that to be able to graduate, is a HUGE deal...at least to me!!!  Again, Preston was so admirable...when they were announcing the graduates, Preston put on his slip of paper, "the Grandson of G & M Y****", among his parents.  Preston has lived with my parents for the last 6 years, they have done EVERYTHING for him!  He made sure that everyone knew that, however, most people already do.  Now, Preston gets to embark on the next chapter of his life...not sure what that will be, but I think he is planning on joining the National Guard.  I wish him the BEST OF LUCK in where ever life takes him.

It was so fun, at the end of the graduation, once all the graduates had been announced, the tassels moved to the other side of the cap, the class and some of the audience (me included) started singing the school song.  It was so much fun and brought back so many memories.  I remember my Mom leaning over and asking me what everyone was doing, she couldn't figure it out.  Preston's friend Tyler's Mom was sitting in front of us and was wondering too.  It was so much fun to sing that song again...surprised I could still remember it 17 years after my graduation.

The graduates marching.  Preston is in the upper left facing the camera.

Manti High School Class of 2011.  They are officially high school graduates!!!

Preston with my Mom & Dad!  The love these two have for Preston is like he is their own son.

Preston and his Mom (my sister Ginger).

Tyler & Preston...These two are more than friends, most people call them brothers.  They have been inseparable since little league baseball.  Tyler calls my parents his Grandparents...well, all of Preston's friends call my parents their Grandparents (that's just how amazing my parents have been to Preston!), and Preston calls Tyler's Mom his Mom.  These two young men have quite a bond of brotherhood.

Preston, Tyler and a couple of their other friends.

Getting a BIG congratulations from his super adorable girlfriend, Lauren.

Aren't they so cute?  And isn't she gorgeous?

And of course, he couldn't leave without getting a shot with me!  I'm SO PROUD OF YOU PRESTON!!!!  Remember, the sky's the limit and YOU can do ANYTHING YOU put your heart and mind to!
