My GORGEOUS baby girl in her birthday outfit. Thank you Kelli for telling me where you got the skirt. Thank you Melanie for picking it up for me.
I did all the baking. And, it was my first time using rolled fondant. I will admit, it is a little hard to roll out at first, but once you get it thin enough, it gets easier. I LOVE using fondant! There is SO MUCH you can do with it. I made the tiara by tracing the birthday invitation and cutting it out with a knife. If you mess up on the white fondant, you can use a wet paper towel and wipe it right off. It's pretty cool.
The cupcakes with the green frosting and pink tops are actually supposed to be flowers. They were the most time consuming and most difficult thing to do. The pink petals are made of marshmallows. We were supposed to use mini marshmallows, but Zane grabbed jumbo marshmallows, so they don't look quite like they are supposed to. I was stressed to the max, but still finished in time to make it to my Usborne Books Christmas party in Nephi on Friday night.
When I lit the candles, Paizlei was instantly drawn to them. When I instructed her to blow out the candles, she blew them out on the first try. When I told her to "dig-in", she didn't know what to do. Once I got Hunter to help her, she went to town. She was so funny to watch.
She faired pretty well from the gifts. She got 2 dresses, 4 outfits, some dress-up clothes, some Disney Polly Pocket Princesses, a Barbi car for her Princesses, $10, Kai Lan themed Mega Block set, some books, a Disney Princess pillow case and some fun little dress-up jewelry.
Hunter was having a hard time, which I knew he would. So, to get him involved, I asked him if he wanted to bring Paizlei her gifts and help her open them. I think he had just as much fun opening them as Paizlei did.
Here she is sporting the BIG gift from Mommy, Daddy and Hunter. She LOVES it...as does Hunter. She wants to ride it all over our home. I guess it's a good thing that we have hardwood and tile floors in every room, except the bedrooms. Makes it easier for her to ride it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL!!!
