My Hunter

With everything that has been going on with Paizlei and trying to get all of her medical issues solved, I haven't really blogged much about my sweet Hunter.  Since he started preschool in February, he has been thriving with his speech and a couple other areas.  Hunter lives for Monday and Tuesday so he can go to school to learn and to play with his friends.  I can't even begin to express my gratitude to his teacher, TA's and his speech therapists.  He is speaking clearer, meaning we are able to understand what he is saying, he is able to speak in sentences, tell us his name (other than Buddy), tell us when something hurts...it's almost like night and day with him.  He is learning how to take care of a lot of his needs, like brushing his teeth on his own, getting completely dressed and undressed, washing his hands...a lot of these things, we have been working with him.  I'm not sure if he is learning it faster because they are able to give him that one on one attention, or if he is learning by following the kids his age...regardless of how he is doing it, I couldn't be happier.

I have been hoping the district would get the funds for the Extended School Year (ESY), but we have yet to hear anything about it, so I am kind of thinking they are not going to get the funds.  I am sad and nervous about it, Hunter has done so well being in school, I am worried that by not going, he will forget what he has learned since February.  I have kept everything he has brought home, the letters, numbers, personal care pictures, all his artwork, and we go over them a couple times a week in hopes he doesn't forget it.  I don't know why I am so afraid of him forgetting it, but without funds for ESY...I can't explain this fear I have.  Only time will tell.

Since his last bout with asthma a month or so ago, thank goodness, he has only had VERY small bouts, nothing worth taking him to the hospital.  We have the FINAL date for his Autism testing in Richfield.  We will do that the end of June.

Here's to you Hunter!  I love you buddy!
