Goldilocks and the Three Bears

On Wednesday, March 5, 2013,
Hunter's kindergarten class performed the play,
Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
My Hunter played the part of a chicken.
Most likely a part they made up so every child had a part.
I was SOOO PROUD of Hunter!
Instead of sitting up on the stage
rubbing the back of the scared little girl sitting next to him,
or picking his nose,
HE PARTICIPATED!!!!
He recited his part without any problems!
He sang without any problems!
He sat up there like a good little boy.

Zane was in St. George for CIT certification for work,
so it was a little hard for me to get really good video and pictures,
and take care of a sick baby and a wild little 4 year old.
So, here are a few pictures I did get that are good.

Before the play started...still waiting for all the kids to come in to watch.
Hunter is on the top row, right in the center, leaning forward.

"Mrs. Silbestoh, LOOK!  Theoh my Mom and Sissy is!"
I heard him yell that when he found us sitting with the rest of the parents.

He wouldn't be Hunter if he didn't stick his tongue out at me!
BTW...don't you think he is THE. CUTEST. CHICKEN. EVER?

Towards the end of the play.
He was starting to get really bored.
I am so proud of him for sitting up there and sticking it out.

The chicken's part was at the end of the play.
Seriously, SO PROUD OF HIM!!!

Hunter participating the way he did in this play,
was HUGE for him!
He usually freezes when there are a lot of people staring at him,
so for him to stand up there and sing,
and recite his part, and participate...
YES, this Mommy was smiling, laughing and crying.
I LOVE my Hunter!!!!

GVES Christmas Program

It's no lie,
I LOVE the Christmas season!
It's one of my most favorite times of the year.
We celebrate the birth of our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We get to decorate our homes
all nice and pretty.
Baking.
Baking.
And more baking.
When we are young,
we learn that just because we give a gift,
doesn't always mean we are going to get one in return.
Hence,
it's better to give,
than to receive.
And,
we get to listen to and sing
some of the most
beautiful,
uplifting,
poignant musical numbers.

Gunnison Valley Elementary School
put on their annual Christmas Program
on Monday, December 3, 2012.
This is my first year
as a parent
that I got to go and listen to my sweet child
sing his little heart out.
It was my first year
to have bragging rights
on how cute my child was in the program.
It was my first year
to sit back and watch my sweet little boy
rub the back of the little girl sitting next to him
all because "she was scared and crying."
It was my first year
to giggle at my 5 year old
because of the silly faces he was pulling.
And,
it was my first year
to just laugh at my little kindergartner
up in the stands picking his nose!
Oh YES!
He was up there,
proudly picking away.

I LOVE YOU AS BIG AS THE SKY,
my sweet, tender-hearted Hunter!!!
Thank you for making this Mommy PROUD!!!!

I LOVE this little boy...and his beautiful curls...and face-pulling, and nose-picking, and back-rubbing...he is TRULY a tender heart!

I was totally amazed at how good he was.  It was late in the evening, so his meds had COMPLETELY wore off, and he was sitting there, behaving.  When he saw us, he didn't attempt to run to us.  (Daddy has a REALLY DIFFICULT TIME focusing my camera.  (:  )
All the kids in GVES (minus those who are sick)

All of the kindergartners and 2 rows of first graders.  The kindergartners sang, Jingle Bells and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer.

Preschool Graduation

Last Wednesday, May 23, 2012, my sweet Hunter graduated preschool!  His teacher did a short program where the kids sang 3 songs, then she presented the graduates.  It was pretty cute, although Hunter wouldn't participate in the songs.  I think, because there were so many strangers looking at all the kids.  He doesn't do well with a lot of people.

Hunter LOVED preschool and woke up every morning so excited and ready to go learn.  He LOVED his teacher and para-educators.  He made so many fun friends and often asks for one or several of them to come and play.  Although I am a little sad my little boy is growing so BIG and making so many friends, it's still a little hard to see him going on to kindergarten.

CONGRATULATIONS, BUDDY!!!!
Mommy, Daddy and Paizlei are SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!
Love you!!!!

My sweet Hunter on his last day of school!  He picked out what he wore...did a pretty good job!  :)

"Take a picture of me smiling big, Momma!"

Hunter's graduating class!  Hunter is on the back row, right in the middle (red jacket).
Singing one of the songs...I love how all the other kids are really into it and he is just sitting there!

Hunter and Mrs. Mellor.  Hunter got an award for having a "Picture Memory".  So. True.  It doesn't matter what it is, if he sees something, he remembers it and can tell you all about it.  If you put something somewhere then forget, ask Hunter, he will be able to tell you where it's at.  He's pretty AMAZING!!!

Preschool Graduation

Tuesday, May 25th was Hunter's Preschool Graduation. There was a little miscommunication sent home with Hunter on Monday. He had a paper in his backpack that confirmed his graduation time at 10am. HIS graduation was at 1:30pm. So, we left and went back at 1:30pm. Graduation was no different than May Day. He was the first one in the room and led his teacher's and the rest of his class to their chairs. As soon as he saw me...yep, you guessed it, he walked over to me and sat down with me and wouldn't go back with his classmates. It was so cute though!

The program consisted of his teacher, Mrs. Mellor, thanking the parents for letting the teachers be such an integral part of the kids lives during the school year. She also went on and told us of ways that we, as parents, can help our children learn and stay on track for the next school year. Then she gave the kids their "diploma's" and an award unique to each child, along with a Preschool Yearbook.

I am so incredibly proud of my sweet little Hunter and the progress he has made since starting preschool in February. Deciding to get him tested at the district office was a very difficult decision, but I am so happy I made the right decision for Hunter. When he started school in February, his vocabulary was so difficult for everyone (other than Zane and I) to understand, he was only using 2 word sentences, he knew how to match colors and shapes, but couldn't tell you what they were (other than blue and a circle), he couldn't tell us when he was hurting. His progress 3 months later....he speaks to where most people can understand him, he uses multiple word sentences, he can tell you shapes and colors and he can tell us when he is hurting or doesn't feel good. It is A.MAZING to me to see the difference just 3 months made for him.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Mrs. Mellor, Mrs. Dyreng, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. K for all the time and effort and hard work you put in to help me sweet little Hunter!

I LOVE this picture! Hunter and his two "favorite friends"...Landon and Isabella.

I had to through this picture in...he was telling me all about snack time...while eating a cookie!

Proudly holding his "Preschool Diploma"! Isn't it the cutest diploma?

The award unique to Hunter, the "I Love Chocolate Milk" Award. Mrs. Mellor said he can drink 2, sometimes 3 cartons of chocolate milk during each snack time. He is definitely his Daddy's boy...a milk lover!

May Day

On Friday May 21st, I got to watch my sweet little Hunter's first May Day.  When I picked him up from school on Wednesday, his teacher, Mrs. Mellor, informed me that Hunter really doesn't participate in the preschooler's dance...he either lays on the floor or he runs around...that's my Hunter for ya!  Because of what Mrs. Mellor said, I kept going back and forth on whether or not I was going to take him and let him "participate" as much as he will.  After talking to my mom, I decided not to have him participate...that decision was based on the fact that my dad was still in the hospital and we were thinking there was a possibility they would let him come home that day (another story) so she wasn't going to come down.  Then around 9pm Thursday night, my mom called and said she was going to come down because they weren't going to send my dad home.  So, I decided to let Hunter "participate" in the May Day program.  I was so excited because this was his first May Day program!!!  And, I could watch my cute nephew Kyler, who lives with his dad here in Gunnison.

Upon arriving to the Gunnison Valley High School, we found our seats and then I took Hunter to find his teachers and classmates.  The first routine was the ever famous May Pole.  Once they were done, it was my little Hunter's turn.  All the TA's and teachers led the kids out and Hunter was almost right in front of me...GREAT JOB of picking out the seats!  As they were getting ready to start, I walked down to the bottom of the bleachers so I could get better pictures of him.  BIG MISTAKE!!!!  Hunter saw me and walked over to me.  End of program for Hunter!  He wouldn't go back out on the floor.  Oh well, he is still only 3, still busy, still my little Hunter.

I have video of Hunter's adorable departure from the floor, but I can't figure out how to add it to this post.  SOOO, if anyone knows how to, please leave a message and I will do another post with the video.  For now, the two best pictures will have to do.

Right after they came out on the floor.  He was looking for his mama!

Right before they were getting ready to start their dance.

Right after the dance started.  He was trying to get the sunglasses out, then he spotted his mama and made his departure.  Isn't he so cute?

It was really fun to go and watch May Day even if Hunter didn't participate.  No offense to all the wonderful teachers and TA's that helped with the May Day program at Gunnison Valley Elementary, but I still like Ephraim Elementary's May Day program so much better.  They have a different theme each year, sing a bunch of super cute songs, and the dances are choreographed by local dancers.  And it runs very smooth.  There is a lot of great talent here in Gunnison, I wish the elementary school would utilize it and change up their May Day program.  Just sayin'...
