Paizlei's New Skirt
While Zane's been busy with building things for our kids, I have been busy sewing. My friend Emily showed me this tutorial on how to sew a ruffle skirt out of an old t-shirt, I immediately wanted to make one for Paizlei. It started out to be this super easy skirt, cutting fat quarters into equal strips, sewing them together, serging the hem (thank you, Val, for doing that for me!), doing a basting stitch and gathering or ruffling it. Then came the most difficult part. I could not get it to look right. The t-shirt I used, had so much elasticity, it made it so hard to get each ruffle straight, which I KNOW they aren't, sewing them, which was THE HARDEST part of the skirt. However, I pushed through the frustration and finished the skirt tonight. Because it is so late, I don't have a picture of Paizeli wearing the skirt..hopefully tomorrow I can get her to cooperate long enough for me to snap a quick on. Until then, here is a quick look at the super cute ruffle skirt.
