The New Pretty

On Tuesday (10/11/11) evening, the kids were outside playing.  When they are outside, they are usually playing really well.  Next thing I know, Paizlei is out the kitchen door screaming.  I go open it and find her with the right side of her hair saturated with blood.  What in the world?  She tells me in between sobs, that Hunter threw a rock and hit her in the head.  I look on her head and can't see anything.  I lay her up on the kitchen counter, turn the water on, and use the sprayer to spray off the blood so I could see the owie.  She had a small gash, but it was pretty open and looked pretty deep.

After my MIL came over to watch Hunter, Sis and I went to the ER.  The doctor looked at it, explained to me it's going to be less painful to put a staple in it, than it will be to give her 3-4 shots to numb it, then do one stitch.  I was so proud of her, she didn't even cry when he put the staple in.  She looked at me, rubbed her head and said, "Owie, that hurt Momma!".  The doctor, nurse and I were expecting her to scream and throw a fit.  Instead, we all just started laughing because she was so funny about it.

Just before the doctor came in.  You can see where one of the rocks hit her just above her eye.  She's sporting a pretty good sized goose-egg.  Her hair is hiding the owie, you can kind of see some of the blood.

The owie with her new pretty!  She was so excited when I told her the doctor was going to put a new pretty in her head!  She thought it was so cool!  I'm thinking that could be why she didn't cry, is because I told her she was getting a pretty in her head.

About 30 minutes after the staple was put in.  Not a tear in her eyes.  She was happy as could be.  The only thing she worries about with the staple, is when I comb her hair, she is worried I am going to comb the owie.
