As per my previous post, I have been on a mission to find websites and/or blogs for little girl hair-do's. On hair styles by mommy, I found one called The Headband. It looked pretty easy, and looked like it wouldn't take very long to do (Paizlei isn't a very patient person when it comes to doing her hair). I gave it my best effort this morning. I think it turned out really cute, and she left it alone all day. I was surprised, as halfway through the day, she usually pulls her lone pigtail out.
I'm pretty certain, you can have as many pigtails as you want, but we did 2 on each side and one in the middle, bringing them all together. You simply part her hair down the middle, or as close to the middle as you can get on a wiggly little 2 year old. Once, you have the part down the middle, you part it just behind the ears, from ear to ear. All the hair in the back that I wasn't using, I pulled back into a ponytail holder. Then, I parted her hair again, on each side, giving me 2 top pigtails. I rolled the hair up and used barrettes to hold it together. Then, I took the remaining hair on each side, closest to her ears, twisted it to make it tight, then put it in an ouch-less rubber band for hair. Then, as I put the hair on top in a pigtail, after wrapping the rubber band around that pigtail a couple of times, I brought in the lower pigtail and wrapped it tight. I did that on both sides. Then, to bring it together, I just had them meet right in the middle, with a final rubber band.
Although the gal who originally did this hair do, did her's a little differently, by carrying it over to the side and connecting it, as a means to hide the connection, I'm pretty happy with how my do turned out.
The description sounds a lot more complicated than it really was. And she looked so dang cute too! Not sure what's up with her goofy grin in the last photo, though. I think she was doing her new thing of saying, "CHEESE" and closing her eyes as the photo is being taken. Something, I think she picked up from her cousins, Bridger and Kanyon.
