MIA

I just realized I have been falling behind with my blog posts.  Things have been crazy buys for all of us.  Here is a brief update on us.

Zane is still working like crazy.  We got a new Sheriff in January, which means Zane got a new boss.  There are a lot of changes coming with that, including scheduling changes.  Because 3 Deputies left the SO, one of which being a Sergeant, that Sergeant position has come open.  So happy to announce that Zane has yet again, put in his Letter of Intent for that position.  I think he stands a pretty good chance of getting it this go around.  With the last round, he was 2nd in line for the position.  We are keeping our fingers crossed that he will get it!!!!  If he gets it, then he goes back to rotation.  I'm not really sure I like the idea of him back on rotation, but they are talking about doing monthly rotations, instead of 3 month rotations.  For the last year, Zane has been working straight days, so going back to the rotation will be a bit of a challenge for us, but I'm sure we can handle it.

Heather...I am still a stay-at-home Mommy and LOVE every minute of it.  It definitely has it's challenges, but at the end of the day, I am very grateful to be able to stay home with my kids.  I am still working on my business in photography.  I am currently taking a Photoshop class at Snow College with a friend from my ward.  I wasn't going to take it, because I already know a lot about Photoshop, but Elise talked me into it.  Even though we have only had a few classes, I learned new tricks with it, which really excited me.  Things that I have wondered how they are done.  Now, I can do them with my photos.  It's every Thursday night.  And it's a lot of fun being able to take the class with someone you know.  Elise and I also signed up to take a photography workshop up in Sandy, UT by a couple of professional photographers from Don Polo Photography.  I'm really excited to go to this workshop.  Everyone on my Photography Friends page on Facebook have said the two that are doing the workshop are "amazing photographers and know their stuff", so I'm hoping to get a lot out of that workshop.  I am still doing my 365Project and loving every minute of that as well.

Hunter is still in preschool 2 days a week, Mondays and Tuesdays.  He LOVES it!!!  He loves riding the bus to and from school, playing with his friends, learning from his teachers, his favorite teacher being Mrs. Dyreng, he ALWAYS talks about Mrs. Dyreng.  I went to Parent-Teacher Conference today, and I am amazed at how well he is doing.  His next IEP is due in March, at that time, he will get a bunch of new goals to work on for the next year.  For his current IEP, I am happy to say, my sweet Hunter has met and surpassed every goal, except for speech.  I'm not sure where he stands on his speech.  I know his teacher said he still has issues articulating a lot of words, but he has come so far in the year he has been in her class.  I have an appointment to meet with his speech therapist later today.  He is right where he needs to be developmentally for his age, and in some areas he is ahead of where he should be.  Hunter is still a VERY busy boy.  He is still on Ritalin and it is still doing it's job, although, I think he could use a higher dose.  It's fairly common for kids on Ritalin to up the dose until you find the right one.  Currently he is taking one 5mg pill in the morning and one 5mg pill in the afternoon.  We go in for his monthly follow-up for his refill, and hopefully the doctor will up it to 7.5mg in the AM and 7.5mg in the PM.  Hunter is also, hopefully (keep our fingers crossed) getting an OT to come in to our home a couple times a month, to work with him on his Sensory Integration Dysfunction (SID). He will also be getting an OT at school.  YAY!!!!  We have been working on getting this approved for about 4 months now.  It's amazing how much a parent has to fight the system in order to get the help her child needs.  However, I know we are truly blessed knowing what we know.  Having a diagnosis.  Having some sort of a plan in hand.  It really helps to know and understand what he is going through and why he is doing the things he is doing and being able to help him as much as we can.  We found out 2 weeks ago, Hunter is near-sighted.  So, not only is his left eye lazy, he gets to deal with the near-sightedness the rest of his life.  We have to take him back to the eye doctor to finish his eye exam because he was too scared to do anything.  Hopefully within the next couple of weeks, we will get him up there again, and he will be able to finish the exam, get glasses and patches to fix his lazy eye.

Paizlei is turning into the cutest and sweetest little girl.  She is 2 going on 13!  She has learned the art of throwing a temper tantrum....she is our little DQ...DRAMA QUEEN!!!!  She doesn't get her own way, the toy she wants, what she wants, someone looks at her the wrong way, says something to her the wrong way, she will let you know.  She is quite the little talker.  She speaks 4-6 word sentences constantly.  Yesterday, I asked her where Hunter was.  Her response, "Hunter ride bus to school.  Hunter at school, mommy."  She is way too smart.  She knows her shapes, numbers, colors, name, Hunter's name, all her body parts.  Her favorite thing to do is dance.  I cannot wait until she is old enough to go to dance.  I think she will absolutely LOVE it!

Here is a little eye candy for you...
