The Sun....

BOOOOO...we have experienced our first...and hopefully our last...REALLY BAD sunburn of the summer.  Hunter was out at Zane's Dad's house on Sunday afternoon helping load the cattle to move them to the pasture, and Dad forget to put sun screen on Hunter.  For those who know us, Hunter has VERY pale skin tone, a super magnet for the sun.  Sunday night, I was vigilant at putting aloe on his arms, shoulders, neck and face, and STILL had to take him to the hospital.  Yeah, Hunter has 2nd degree burns on his shoulders from the darn sun.  He had MASSIVE blisters on both shoulders.  The nurse popped them, treated them with Silvadine cream, and  wrapped his shoulders up.  Poor kid, we have to keep his shirts off of him so the dressing will stay on.  With the dressing wrapped around his upper body and shoulders, it looks a lot worse than it really is.  It looks like his whole upper body was burned.

The good in all of this...we both learned the importance of putting sunscreen on our VERY pale kids.
