What's All The Craze About?
Utah finally has it's very first In-N-Out Burger! They opened it here in sunny St. George! When they opened last week I could not believe the lines. Not only was there an endless line to go into the joint, but the line of cars was ridiculous! In-N-Out sits on a southwest corner lot in a strip mall setting...a fairly big strip mall. They had the drive-thru lined up all all the way around the strip mall and almost to to the next strip mall. I couldn't believe it! Well, the lines have pretty much died down, for the most part. So, we decided to go there today to see what all the craze was about. I must say, I wasn't all that impressed! The hamburgers were extremely greasy and the fries, not only were they extremely greasy but they were not cooked long enough. The hamburgers kind of reminded me of the hamburgers we would get at the Ute Stampede in Nephi...many memories of those yummy burgers! And worst of all, the diet coke had very little carbonation in it. Anyone that likes diet coke (Whitney) knows that for it to be good, you have to get a good fizz in your mouth. I would say that I prefer to eat at Chadder's in American Fork. No, not because the owner, Chad is a friend of mine and I love his 4 kids as if they were my own, but because the food was a lot better there than at In-N-Out and the menu was a little bit bigger at Chadder's. On the menu at In-N-Out all they had was 3, that's right, 3 hamburger choices! Oh well, now we know what In-N-Out Burger is all about! I personally don't think the craze is really worth what everyone was making it out to be.

The BIG Layoff

The Monday after Easter Zane's bosses came to the site where Zane was working. It was about 5:15pm and they talked to each individual and told them they weren't needed any more! The week before that, Zane had talked to his boss and asked him if his job was secure. Of course he was told "yeah, you don't have anything to worry about." It was a BIG shock to both of us when he got laid off! The good news is, we are probably going to be moving closer to home in August! The bad news is August is still like 4 months away! Zane was able to find a job that very week at Target on their Flow Team. He goes in at 4am and gets home around 1pm. I also work at Target, mainly to give me that much needed "me time" that mommies really need! It's been really hard for us to make ends meet. It's almost been a month and we are still hanging in there! Not having money for gas to travel home has upset some people and for that we are very sorry. Most people don't realize just how expensive it is to live in St. George and every little penny we have right now has to go to bills, gas and groceries. Together, we make 1/4 of what Zane was making at Desert Hills. It has been really tight, but we are hanging in there! We always tell each other that if we have faith, pay our tithing, say our prayers and live righteously, the Lord will bless us and help us make it through to August!
Summer Has Begun
This last Monday, when it is 91 degrees, Zane and I took Hunter to this cool new park here in St. George that has a waterfall and a little stream that runs through it, that is chlorinated water. Oh my goodness did he ever have fun! He was in a totally different world! He ran everywhere, up and down the stream, climbed up the rocks, played in the waterfall! He discovered a couple months ago that when he stomps his foot, water sprays everywhere. Well, in the stream he was having a hayday stomping his foot and spraying mom and dad and whom ever else was there to splash! We were there for over an hour! He had an absolute blast! He LOVED it! We was so mad when it was time to go! He was having so much fun playing in the water and playing with all the other kids that he didn't want to go! I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time at this park this summer!
