On December 17, our sweet little princess arrived! Paizlei Mae was born at 7:58pm weighing in at 4 lbs 10 oz and 17 inches tall. She has brown hair with a lot of blonde hair. Her tiny head is smaller than my hand. She is such a beautiful baby! Because she was born seven weeks early, she is spending time in the NICU at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. She was on CPAP air for 6 hours after she was born and on room air since. Paizlei's weight went down to 4 bls 6 oz, however she is up to 4 lbs 14 oz. She isn't sick or have any neurological problems. All little Paizlei has to do is pick up on nursing and they will take the feeding tube out and she can come home! The doctors in the NICU tell the parents to not expect them to come home before 37 weeks gestation, so we still have at least two more weeks left here. Paizlei is doing GREAT! She is latching on and getting anywhere from 10 ml to 20 ml each time she latches on. She is normally fed 43 ml every 3 hours, however, I am only allowed to nurse her twice a day until she gets greater than 75% of her normal feeding through the breast. So, we still have a ways to go but each day she does better.
Once I get home, I will upload some pics of our princess! She is absolutely beautiful!
