Hunter Starts Kindergarten

On Tuesday, August 21, 2012, Hunter had his very first day of kindergarten!  We had been pumping him up for it since I knew he would struggle with the change from the past 3 years being with the same teacher, para-educators and classroom.  He was really excited about starting the whole week before school started.  Then came time to actually get up in the morning, eat, get ready...get back into our routine.  Needless to day, the first few days were quite difficult, not only for Hunter, but for me as well.  Not only was Hunter exhausted at night, I was too.

After a full week of being in kindergarten, his favorite parts are:
  ~Recess
  ~He LOVES his teacher, Mrs. Nielsen
  ~He LOVES that several kids from his preschool class are in his class again this year.
  ~Coloring
  ~Writing
  ~Learning what letter's "say" (the sounds)
  ~Playing with his friends
  ~Recess (I think he LOVES recess more than anything. (:)

Here are some photos from his teachers Meet & Greet on Monday.  Unfortunately, his teacher was at a funeral that day so he didn't get to meet her, but she did have a fun little scavenger hunt for the kids to go on.

 He was SO EXCITED when he found his name on the wall in the hall!

 Part of the scavenger hunt was to find his cubbie for his backpack and jacket, as well as his cubbie for his homework.  

 He LOVES his new classroom!  It's right next to his preschool classroom.  He told me the other day he saw his preschool teacher and she talked to him.  He was pretty excited to see her.

 All dressed and ready to go!  He was SO EXCITED!  When I dropped him off, he was super nervous and very timid.  When I turned around and walked off, he had a look of terror on his face.  I may or may not have cried that day.  :)

 His kindergarten sign.  Not the greatest, but I forgot to make a super cute one the night before and I didn't have time that morning.  Next year will be better.  ;)

 We were told the bus would come pick him up.  By 5 minutes to 8, I decided I better take him because the bus never showed up.  In this photo, he is waiting for the bus to come.

I LOVE this photo of him!  He was laughing at something his new puppy and cat were doing while they were playing.  I captured this moment so perfectly! LOVE IT!  LOVE MY BOY!!!!
